Conservatory Replacement Success: A Modern Garden Room Upgrade with SupaLite

Project Overview

The homeowners wanted to update their ageing conservatory without the cost or disruption of replacing the entire structure. The SupaLite Tiled Roof System was the perfect solution.

The installation began with the removal of the old conservatory roof, windows, and doors. An old stairs window was bricked up and insulated, with internal walls replastered to a high standard. The conservatory base pillars were altered to new heights, while the surrounding brickwork was reconfigured to allow for repositioned door and window openings.

Next, new, energy-efficient glazing was installed. Platinum Liniar NRG white uPVC windows and a sliding patio door, complete with reinforced frames and sashes, were fitted. All units were triple glazed with toughened safety glass, achieving an outstanding U-value of 0.8 and an A9++ energy rating, placing them among the most efficient glazing products available.

The centrepiece of the transformation was the installation of a SupaLite solid tiled roof system, finished with Tapco slate tiles, and three SkyVista Glass Panels to maximise natural light. Internally, the roof was fully insulated using 100mm and 60mm Celotex insulation, before being plasterboarded to create a bright, clean finish.

For the finishing touches, new white uPVC fascias, soffits, and guttering were added externally, while inside the walls and ceilings were plastered smooth. Downlights were installed throughout, and the customer’s own electric heaters were connected to complete the comfortable, functional living space.

Once all work was finished, the site was carefully cleared, and all waste was responsibly removed.

The result is a warm, modern conservatory that blends seamlessly with the home. With triple glazing and a solid insulated roof, the space now offers superior comfort and efficiency in every season – no more too hot in summer or too cold in winter.
